Photographs of the work done to Huffo (a 1957 Land-Rover 88") during the spring of 2020

Initially, work was to remove the engine and replace the core plug in the back of the block as it was weeping.

However, as the gearbox was leaking oil, and it is easier to mate a gearbox to an engine already mounted in the chassis than vice-versa, it made sense to also remove the gearbox for repairs.

The gearbox removal provided an ideal opportunity to repair corrosion to the gearbox cross member, which was best accomplished by replacing the cross member.

And this lead to undertaking repairs to other corroded areas of the chassis, repainting, partial re-wiring, new brake lines, and fixing a few other niggles whilst it was all apart!
